Insert Balloon Annotation¶
In one sentence: Places a balloon (a circled number or letter with a leader line) on a view — for calling out part numbers in assembly drawings.

Workbench: TechDraw
Menu: TechDraw → Dimensions → Insert Balloon Annotation
Balloons are the standard way to link parts in a drawing view to a Bill of Materials table. Each balloon contains a part number or item number.
Step-by-step¶
- Choose TechDraw → Dimensions → Insert Balloon Annotation.
- Click the point on the view where the arrowhead tip should land.
- Click again to place the balloon body.
- Double-click the balloon to edit its text.
