Insert 3-Point Angle Dimension¶
In one sentence: Measures the angle at a vertex defined by three selected vertices — for angles that cannot be defined by two edges alone.
Overview¶
Workbench: TechDraw
Menu: TechDraw → Dimensions → Insert 3-Point Angle Dimension
The angle is measured from the line (vertex1 → vertex2) to the line (vertex2 → vertex3), where vertex2 is the apex.
When to use it¶
Use this instead of the two-edge angle dimension when: - The angle is defined by three geometric points, not two edges. - Measuring the angle of a hole pattern measured from a central point. - The two edges do not actually intersect in the view.
Step-by-step¶
- Click vertex1 in a view.
- Ctrl-click vertex2 (the apex).
- Ctrl-click vertex3.
- Choose TechDraw → Dimensions → Insert 3-Point Angle Dimension.
- Click to place the dimension arc and text.
